Shaelyn's theater class decided to perform a mini-production to teach the students what it takes to put a show together. It was based off the story of "Aladdin", but the students put a Western theme to the script and made it unique. They had to audition for the parts that they wanted, so Shaelyn practiced her singing and nailed the audition for the part of Jasmine!
According to the script, she was the Mayor's daughter and was supposed to marry a Sheriff's deputy. Aladdin rescued her from the market...
...And then he got arrested.
Shaelyn pulled off a pretty cute southern accent as she yelled at Jafar for his stupidity.
But in the end, the genie (who came out of a boot) helped save the day.
They sang "A Whole New World" at the end of the show, and even though Shaelyn was embarrassed to hold her acting partner's hand, she made it through.
Bravo! Bravo!
They all did their best with the time they were given to practice, and it was a pretty cute show.
Proud of my girl for having the courage to get out there on stage and do what she loves.
