Chelsea and her 4th grade classmates have been practicing for their Idaho history program for the past two months. She asked if we could go shopping for a pioneer bonnet, and was clearly disappointed when I told her they went out of style about 150 years ago. But, we found some inspiration on Pinterest and did our best magic with the sewing machine.
"If you give a girl a bonnet, she's going to need a skirt... and an apron... and a shawl, too!"
I may have gone a little overboard...
She did a great job and we enjoyed watching her performance.
She even had a small speaking part and it was cute to see her up on stage.
And Shaelyn and Jacob were home from school just in time to see it too.
Not as rough as the real pioneers, but it was cold!
Glad he survived and made it home safely.
You could say Dad was doing a bit of "pioneering" himself this weekend with his Army unit.
They got to go on a backpacking hike to an outdoor location where they set up camp and had to sleep in tents.
Glad he survived and made it home safely.
