This was Shaelyn's first year attending FSY (For the Strength of Youth) and it was a neat experience. She and a friend from the ward (Emma H.) were roommates and got to stay in a college dorm at Boise State for four days. Each dorm had four separate bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a living space in the middle with a kitchen and living room. It was kinda weird for mom to drop her off with her bags and some snacks and say "See you in four days!"
She had a really fun counselor named Lizzy and got to meet other teens from around the Boise area who were in her group.
They did a lot of fun activities and had a talent show and a dance and it was cool.
(That's about as much as she would tell me any way).
Who knows, maybe she will survive being on her own for college after all!
As long as she has her Oreos.
